Danae Marshall, Anutr

Danae Marshall (Msc, ANutr) is a registered nutritionist with a passion for making evidence-based nutrition accessible, practical, and inclusive.

Danae Marshall (Msc, ANutr) is a registered nutritionist with a passion for making evidence-based nutrition accessible, practical, and inclusive. Her early love of cooking and lived experience with coeliac disease led her to pursue a career helping others understand how nutrition supports everyday well-being.

She holds a BSc in Human Biology and Nutrition and an MSc in Human Nutrition, specialising in Public Health, from the University of Glasgow. Her work has included teaching cooking and nutrition to individuals completing community service and at-risk teens; an experience that sparked her commitment to reaching underserved communities.

In her research career, Danae led a study on lifestyle interventions for sleep, diet, and exercise at King’s College London, and has co-authored two peer-reviewed papers: one on the gut microbiome and timing of meals, and another on vegetarian meat substitute products. She now works at ZOE, translating blood triglyceride, blood glucose, and microbiome science into practical, personalised guidance.

Danae’s areas of interest include the gut microbiome and gut-brain axis, and health equity. Outside of work, she enjoys exploring new corners of the UK, diving into fiction novels, and continuing her lifelong love of cooking.
