Correlation

A statistical relationship between two variables, where changes in one variable are associated with changes in another.

  • Positive Correlation: Both variables increase or decrease together.
  • Negative Correlation: One variable increases as the other decreases.

Limitation: Correlation does not imply causation. This is a common criticism, which essentially means that just because two events occur at the same time does not mean that one caused the other.
