Josie Porter is an award-winning Registered Dietitian, nutrition communicator and author with a clear commitment to helping people make informed, sustainable food choices. Through her private practice, The Dietitian Method, Josie combines clinical expertise with a practical, compassionate approach that cuts through nutrition misinformation and supports people to build healthier relationships with food.
She holds both a BSc and MSc in Dietetics and Advanced Professional Practice, and has developed extensive clinical experience in leading London healthcare settings, including Guy’s and St Thomas’ and University College London Hospitals. Her work spans gut health, weight management, binge-eating recovery, women’s health, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), type 2 diabetes, fatty liver disease and sports nutrition.
Alongside her clinical work, Josie is Senior Dietitian at Simple, where she contributes to digital-health product development, nutrition science and AI-enabled tools. She is also the author of How Not to Take Supplements, which reflects her evidence-led approach to navigating an increasingly confusing wellness industry.
Known for making nutrition science understandable and actionable, Josie brings together clinical rigour, empathy and a strong public-facing voice. Her work across consultations, writing, media and social platforms helps people move beyond restrictive food rules and marketing claims, towards realistic habits that support long-term health and wellbeing.
