Edna Sánchez Edosomwan is an MSc Dietetics student, with a particular interest in facilitating and exploring human and planetary relationships with the food system.

After completing her studies in Molecular Biology and gaining experience at AstraZeneca in early drug safety, she decided to specialise in Dietetics. She realised she wanted to support people on their health journey through nutrition education and communication, rather than from the laboratory.

For her, the beauty and complexity of nutrition lies in its existence at the intersection of social, cultural, environmental, psychological and physiological factors. Nutrition is, for some, a blueprint of their cultural identity, as it is for others a tool for healthful living. It is therefore very important to communicate nutrition with clarity and transparency, so as to reduce misinformation. This internal dialogue is what led her to volunteer at foodfacts.org, where she hopes to research and fact-check information about the biopsychosocial factors that connect with nutrition.

Outside her studies, Edna is a multidisciplinary artist focused primarily on movement improvisation. She combines movement and mindfulness to explore how embodiment and receptiveness to the environment influence the direction of improvisation.
